Copper Leaf Hotel Art on the Town Features the Art of Anne Baruth

On Friday, September 21, Anne Baruth will be our featured artist at the CopperLeaf Hotel.  Anne is an Appleton based illustrator and studio artist specializing in figurative and nature themed work.  She works with a range of mediums: pencil, colored pencil, watercolor, oil pastel, and ink to create both realistic and imaginative images.  Her work is described as whimsical and beautiful.  Many consider her style unique, expressive, and easy to identify.

Examples of her work will be available for viewing Friday evening.  She works largely on special order and commissioned pieces for corporations, businesses, non-profit organizations and private individuals.  Her corporate clients have included Kimberly Clark – one piece won an Addy Award, Network Health, and others.

Her work for individuals is made to order including original invitations and other materials for weddings and special events, portraits, watercolor nature paintings and prints, and gently humorous caricatures.

“I’ve been ‘an artist’ since I was a very little girl,” Anne says. “It is just in my heart!”  Instead of after school sports, her growing up years in Kohler were filled with a multitude of classes, workshops, camps and private lessons in art.

As an adult, Anne worked with homeless people and runaways for over a decade in California’s magnificent Central Coast.  There she directed arts enriched children’s programs and managed public relations and fund raising.  Anne returned to Wisconsin in 1989 and completed her degree at Lawrence University where she majored in studio art and graduated with several honors.

You may find more of Anne’s artwork at her facebook business page: Anne Baruth Illustration and here in this short video:  We hope you are able to see Anne’s work and meet her, too!
