Appleton Police to Participate In National Police Week Activities

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy named May 15th as National Peace Officers Memorial Day.  The calendar week the day falls in was designated as National Police Week.  This year, the week recognizing those who have sacrificed for the good of others is May 10, 2015, to May 16, 2015.

Monday, May 11, 2015 – Flag raising ceremony at the entry doors of the Appleton Police Department (222 S. Walnut Street) – 8:30 AM

Wednesday, May 13, 2015 – Police vehicle display and Appleton Police Explorer’s brat fry at the Houdini Plaza.   In addition to a large number of police vehicles, the Coast Guard will have a boat on display. During the event, a limited number of bicycle helmets, courtesy of the Heaney Family Fund within the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, will be available. Individuals wanting a helmet must bring their child(ren) to the event to be properly fitted. – 10:00 AM until 1:30 PM
