The parade will be a tribute to the United States Navy and honor the many faces of freedom. This year’s parade theme is “65 Years of Honoring Old Glory”. The event will feature military units and military marching bands from throughout the nation.  It will include about 100 total units consisting of veterans’ organizations, scout troops, patriotic floats, decorated vehicles, walking units and area marching bands.

“We are honored that several musical groups and drum corps from across the Upper Midwest will be returning this year to march and perform,” according to Greg Otis, Parade Chairman. “We are thankful to the Octoberfest Committee for granting monies this year to bring these additional musical marching groups.”

The parade begins at 2 p.m. from Wisconsin Avenue and Oneida Street, heading west.  At State Street, it turns left and proceeds south to College Avenue.  At College, it turns left again and proceeds east to Drew Street, dispersing at Drew Street and College Avenue.

WFRV-TV Local 5 will videotape the parade for re-broadcast in the Green Bay/Fox Cities area. This will allow viewers in all of Northeastern Wisconsin to see the parade.
