Create More Share More Art on the Town Video

Strathmore Artist Papers was at our recent Art on the Town sharing art supplies with our community so more of us can create art.  Here is a note from the event organizer:

Hello! I wanted to send a quick thank you to both of you and Appleton Downtown Inc. for being so easy to work with this summer for our “Create More, Share More, Strathmore” paper drop events. As part of the campaign we had a video made of the final event which features downtown Appleton and “Art on the Town” quite nicely. I thought you might be interested in seeing it.

Foxtrot Over the Fox: Community Building Hope for Sexual Assault Survivors

Foxtrot Over the Fox: Community Building Hope for Sexual Assault Survivors by Josh Dukelow.

On October 3, Downtown Appleton became the backdrop for a fundraiser for the Sexual Assault Crisis Center – Fox Cities. Iconic buildings, the Farmers Market, and the Fox River all play a starring role in the event. It’s a great example of our community giving back!

On Oct 17, I’m dancing in Shall We Dance along with 7 other Community Dancers. We are raising funds and awareness ahead of the big day. One way I did this was to dance the foxtrot the entire length of the Oneida Skyline Bridge (nearly a mile) from Riverview Gardens to Houdini Plaza!

This video captures the stunt and communicates what motivated me to do it. It also shows what every viewer can do to help inspire hope for survivors of human trafficking and sexual assault. Every gift makes a difference! Please donate here: sacc-foxcities.org/joshdukelow

Beach House – “Myth” Filmed in Downtown Appleton

Hey friends!

Just wanted to say thank you for being so hospitable a couple years ago to allow me to shoot my film on your streets! Here is the final film — Thank you!!

The film originated two years ago — contextually based on my personal life and journey. While writing the screenplay, I envisioned almost all of the scenes taking place in downtown appleton.

Logistically, I assumed it would be nearly impossible to acquire the access to a busy downtown intersection and essentially close downtown for a few hours. However, I had faith! I worked with Eric Lom, the traffic manager, to gain access to shoot a pretty laborious and tricky scene right in the heart of downtown. I had an incredible crew of 15 friends to help out that day. It was ridiculously riveting & exciting to have a vision come to life, in its entirety. There is only one scene in the film that wasn’t shot in downtown appleton — I am so incredibly blessed to make movies in such a beautiful, generous town! Thank you all for your support – and enjoy the film!
