Do’s and Dont’s for Wedding Place Cards and Meal Choices – Radisson Paper Valley Hotel

The Radisson Paper Valley Hotel shares DOs & DONTs: Place Cards & Meal Choices.

Place cards are cute and all, but when you actually need to use them to distinguish meal choice you have to keep in mind their purpose: showing the meal choice.  The room is most likely going to be dim and those servers need to move fast.  In order to make place cards that actually serve their purpose, there are a few things to know.

3 Basic Tips:
-Do the pre-work
-Choose your method
-Keep it SIMPLE

Help with Storyland – The Building for Kids Children’s Museum

Families and friends of the Building For Kids Children’s Museum.  The museum needs your help!

FVTC intern, Jenny, will be teaching in the Davinci Studio in November about Storyland! She wants to know what you already know about the books in the Storyland exhibit (If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, Abuela, The Snowy Day, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, Tuesday, The Tale of Peter Rabbit, and Where’s Spot?). Have you read all the stories before? What is your favorite one? What do you want to know about the stories, authors, illustrators, pictures, etc?

Leave your comments on Facebook here and come see the new and exciting activities Jenny has planned in November!

What could be better than strolling down College Avenue in Downtown Appleton on a crisp fall day enjoying the sights, sounds and smells of autumn?
How about the opportunity to taste signature soups in 17 different restaurants?
And the opportunity to donate canned goods to St. Joseph Food Program & receive specials for doing so at participating retailers Oct. 20-28?
And the chance to win great prizes by voting for your favorite soup Oct. 20-28?
Plus the Downtown Cool Trolley will be running from noon to 4 pm to help you get to all the restaurants!

Art on the Town at Coventry Glassworks and Gallery

Coventry Glassworks and Gallery has had a great season and they are excited about their opening reception on the September 21st, for Art on the Town featuring drypoint and relief prints by artist Stephanie Harvey.

Stephanie’s work is intricate and thought-provoking. Much of her inspiration for these images comes from her reevaluation of gender-geared labels and the consequence of rejecting tradi

tional feminine roles. She strives to call attention to the way people treat others based on their gender-specific expectations.

Stephanie earned her BFA at UW Oshkosh, and has exhibited her work in many group and solo shows. She is an active member of the NE chapter of the Wisconsin Visual Artists, and is also part of the Oshkosh gallery group Art
Space Collective.

Art on the Town is 6 – 9 pm on Friday September 21st.
