Mail Armor Artist & Doga (Dog Yoga) Demonstrations at Globally Sound Fair Trade. 604 W. College Ave.
Art on the Town Friday, June 15, 6 – 9 pm
Mail Armor Artist — Rodger Menchaca
“I, Lord Denis’ Des’ Baux, would like to show you hands on how mail armor is made. From the wire, to wrapping a coil, to pulling a spring, to cutting rings, and then in to a piece of art. Twelve years ago I made a shirt and coif (hood) from mail that will be displayed. It took me about 123.5 hours to make the shirt alone. Are you wondering how many rings that is, stop by I’ll let you know. I understand how the rings have patterns and how to use them. With that, I will show you things that can be made from mail.”
Doga Instructor — Tiara Soderstrom
Tiara began practicing yoga with the instructors at Globally Sound Fair Trade a few years ago. Once someone catches the “yoga bug,” he or she always wants to share it — especially with best friends. Tiara decided to share her practice with her furry best friends. Tiara will be demonstrating “Doga” with her dog. Come in and ask her questions about how to bring this practice home to your dogs.
